somehow ive circled around the cold. everybody else is crazy sick. i still pretend its summer and 40° C out. apparently i’m holding on to something. just as olney air is: we holding on to a bunch of new songs. we’ve been squeezing studio dates into semester schedules, as well as the occasional unplugged show. but really we’re holding on to this new material. i hate to be prophetic, so ill keep it short: please wait up for us.

Tobi ist in Fronkreisch, danach in den Staaten. Olney Air, Promotour weltweit. Vielleicht macht er aber auch Urlaub. Der rest verbringt viel Zeit mit den Instrumenten. Wir schreiben neue Musik und sind gespannt wo uns das hinführt. Es wird anders. Man darf gespannt sein.

good morning!
i’ve just gone international with this blog. about time. its not a question of popularity, neither is it one of constraint. i just felt it was time. maybe it is. we’ve been writing songs in english for years now, we speak it in college, sing along to english lyrics of our favorite bands, read english books (always the wrong ones), laugh at cartoons, dont laugh at news headlines, lead pointless party conversations, do dirty talk, etc. - in english. so why not include this blog?
i hope that at least a few people can appreciate this. maybe not everybody - i understand - but considering that this band has done all their writing and half their thinking in concepts and under influences that take roots in a rather universal and international context than a regional or genre-restrictive one - it just seems right. this is not an obligation - its an invitation. to virtually anyone (who knows the language…:) )
my personal opinion as a blog-reader, music-digger or lyrics-memorizer, or whichever other side of music enjoyment you want, is that i would much rather be able to grasp all of what a band has to say than feel my way around somehow. ok. so much for the reasoning.

oh and also: no - im not desperately trying to justify this before myself. but i want everyone to understand.
one last thing: im totally lacking capitalization and punctuation discipline. but thats ok.

we’ve been writing. it feels good. so we’ll just keep going. im really psyched about some of the new material. but yeah…lets keep the cap on the bottle for now.
also: we’ve been playing acoustic shows for a little while now, firstly because jasper had been locked away in an office building for a few weeks, but also because we like reducing instrumentations to whats really necessary. and it turns out its real fun. it somehow seems to be easier to appreciate our music that way. at least thats what i’ve been told by everyone. maybe just in a bar-gig context. anyhow - thanks for the appreciation. we heart you.

Schade, heute Jimmy verpasst, dafuer ist endlich eine Menge Kram der ansteht erledigt. Entschuldigt den Sprung ins kalte Wasser…Ja, ich weiss, lange kein Blog, dem muss jetzt Abhilfe geschaffen werden. Ich bin nur staendig zwischen Tuer und Angel. Aber first things first:

DIE EP IST FERTIG. Mittwoch rausgegangen. Wir warten alle gespannt auf die erste Ladung CDs, besonders die letzten 2 Monate haben teilweise geschlaucht und am Bandspirit genagt, aber das renkt sich alles wieder ein. Besonders jetzt, wo man fertig ist. “Pioneers” war ein dickes Stueck Arbeit fuer uns, wir haben mit der Unterstuetzung einiger lieber Freunde alles selber organisiert, geplant, finanziert und umgesetzt. Wir haben uns produktionstechnisch ausprobiert und sind froh, ein gutes Ergebnis erzielt zu haben. Auch wenn es lange gedauert hat. Manchmal muss man den laengeren Weg gehen, damit man etwas lernt. Natuerlich konnten wir produktionstechnisch nicht alles machen, was wir uns ertraeumen, aber das ist voellig ok, nein es ist gut so. Schliesslich wollen wir keine Rockopern und 9e Sinfonien, sondern gute Platten machen. Da muss man pragmatisch sein.
Wir haben im letzten Jahr viel Zeit mit einander verbracht, mehr als je zuvor, zig schlaflose Studionaechte mitgenommen, Kistenweise Club Mate und Imbissessen verputzt und Diskussionen gefuehrt. Es tut sich viel in unseren Koepfen, sowohl musikalisch als auch zwischenmenschlich. Ich kann nur sagen, dass ich sehr froh bin, teil dieser Band zu sein.
Diese kleine Platte ist kein Abschluss, sondern ein Anfang.

Kommt alle in Massen zur Record Release Party am 15.2. im Gruenen Salon! Wir wollen mit euch feiern. Wer ganz aufmerksam ist, findet auch raus, wie man 2 euro guenstiger reinkommt. Aber da muesst ihr ein wenig stoebern.

Bleibt dran, wir freuen uns sehr auf das kommende Jahr.
