Dear Friends!
A lot of things have changed: Olney Air is now officially disbanded. Ever since our old drummer Jasper went to Spain in September 2008, it was only a matter of time, retrospectively.
We wrote a stack of new songs in in the early summer of 2008 and recorded them, certain that they are better and more sincere than anything we’ve written before. Since we feel like we’re not the same band anymore and a lot of aspects about what we do and how we do it have changed, we shall now be called “Crashcaptains”.
It took us a year to find our new drummer, Felix, but we are now very happy to have him with us. He’s the incarnation of the fact that we managed to climb out of a deep hole we fell into when we realized we would have to go on without a great musician and good friend. Looking back now, we (and I especially) would like to thank Jasper for 6 amazing years full of friendship, great music and great times. Olney Air, speaking for myself and I hope for the rest of us as well, has taught me so much about the things and people most dear to me that it’s hard to leave the name and the band behind. But being able to look forward creatively and productively now makes it easier. Its so hard to say goodbye, but at some point we have to.
Olney Air would also like to thank everyone who supported us through the years. It meant and still means a big lot to us. Please stay with us if you can, we would really appreciate your support.
So this is goodbye. But in a way, it’s hello. Come visit Crashcaptains here!
Take care.
Olivia, Tobi, Felix, Jasper and Nick.
